Getting ready for another fun, action packed round of uke lessons. It looks like two really nice classes are taking shape: one for beginning students and one for more experienced ukers. Now that I live in the area again I find it easier to accommodate folks' schedules. In that spirit, I have instituted a policy whereby any student can have up to 2 one-on-one lessons* to make up for the occasional class they have to miss.
So get ready to strum and sing!
* I imagine there's a chance we could group a number of absentees into a make-up class here and there. We'll see how that all goes.
Graham and Peter jamming with fellow Lions...How proud am I? Woo hoo!
Can you believe that it's already week 6 for the advanced class and week 5 for the new students? We've covered a fair amount of ground, I've sometimes pushed a bit too hard, but we're having fun, right? Right? The intention was to cover fewer tunes, but to go deeper into the tunes, the techniques and a bit of theory. We'll further our exploration of fingerpicking in our advanced class, and we'll apply our strums to new songs in the beginning class. Nice work, everyone!

Thanks to Graham for the heads up on this.
See? You weren't nearly as rusty as you thought. The strumming patterns returned quickly, and I think I even heard some singing going on! I love this class. BTW, we're adding some wonderful energy to the 4:30 class as Nan and Tracy will be joining us.
Also, as promised, tabs are here. There are two tabs on the class page, and we'll be going over what tabs are and if they might be helpful to you. Not a requirement—just another learning tool.
1) Peter suggested the Clapton tune Wonderful Tonight. I'll have that prepared for class #2
2) Perry suggested a better camera angle for the video tutorials, so I'll be working on that as well.
3) You have Graham to thank for the tabs.
Practice your Bb chord.
Here we go. October 25 at 4 and 5:30 PM. Advanced/Intermediate class...we'll review some things and have some new fun for sure. See you soon..
We will be resuming the Dancing Bohemian School of Ukes at some point this autumn. So change your strings, tune up and sign in...
When my uke class handed me a gift bag I thought, "Oh cool. Maybe it's a framed photo of all my lovely students. Or a puppy." But no. It was an iPad Pro!!! Really. I'm still speechless—a rarity for sure. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
